While some of the pollution in the area may be caused by adults, some of it is likely caused by children, too. However, you can set a good example by teaching them an important yet fun lesson.

After each child adds their item into the water, you can show them how bad the water looks because it is dirty and loaded with debris. It is a simple and easy lesson that can really show them what it is like when the trash that gets thrown on the grown falls into the various bodies of water in the area.

 Plan a Monthly Cleaning Day With Your Students

Another way to take a stand in the fight against pollution is to plan monthly cleaning days with the students. You may want to take a field trip to a local park and spend time cleaning it up with the children. It is a learning experience that will make an impact on the community by decreasing the amount of trash that is in the park.

While planning those monthly cleaning days, it is important to purchase and rent out the right supplies. You may want to get in contact with a dumpster rental service. There is a good chance that students will collect a whole lot of trash while in the park and it is important for you to have a good place for them to put it. If you rent out a dumpster, the company can take it to your location and pick it up from you after it is filled up with all the trash that is collected throughout the day. Aside from renting out the dumpster, you may want to purchase plenty of plastic trash bags, gloves and trash grabber tools so that kids can keep their hands protected while picking up garbage from the ground.
